Two sisters from Jersey City gave birth to baby boys just 45 minutes apart at Hoboken University Hospital.
Sulian Datt gave birth to her third child, Noah, weighing 7 pounds and 12 ounces, at 9:25 a.m. on Monday morning.
Shenti, her sister, gave birth to her sixth child, Raph, weighing 7 pounds and 10 ounces, at 10:16 a.m.
Sulian’s son Noah arrived more than a week before his due date of Oct. 6. Shenti’s son Raph came a few days before his due date on Sept. 27.
Both children arrived healthy and strong. They were delivered by Dr. Francine Hyman and assisted by Phyllis Camilleri, the nurse director of maternal child health, and her staff.
“The staff noted how incredibly special the day was for the entire team — delivering two cousins, born to sisters, just minutes apart,“ according to a statement from Hudson Regional Health. ”They said that the joy in the rooms was unforgettable.“
