Country music star Hillary Scott, one-third of the Grammy-winning group Lady A, has even more to sing about these days — the arrival of her fourth daughter! Hillary and her husband, Chris Tyrrell, welcomed baby Selah Jean on Friday, July 25, 2025. A representative confirmed the joyful news exclusively to PEOPLE, and the couple shared their excitement with fans: “We are absolutely overjoyed to introduce you to Selah Jean!”
“She was born on July 25th, and she has already brought so much love and light into our lives. From the moment she arrived, it felt like a piece of our hearts we didn’t know was missing had been found.” Hillary and Chris also explained the meaning behind their daughter’s name. Selah, a word with deep spiritual roots in the Bible, is often interpreted as “pause and reflect,” while Jean means “God is gracious.” Together, the name embodies faith, peace, and gratitude — values the couple holds dear. “In just a few days, we already see how deeply Selah embodies those words,” they said. “She brings calm, joy, and wonder into our home. She truly feels like a miracle — like Christmas came early this year.”
A Joyful House Full of Girls
With Selah’s arrival, the Scott-Tyrrell family now includes four daughters: 12-year-old Eisele Kaye, and 7-year-old twins Emory JoAnn and Betsy Mack. Hillary affectionately calls their home a “household of little ladies,” filled with laughter, energy, and sisterly bonds. “Watching Eisele, Emory, and Betsy step into their new roles as big sisters has been incredibly heartwarming,” Hillary shared. “They are attentive, nurturing, and excited. Selah is already surrounded by so much love.”
Hillary first revealed her pregnancy in February on Instagram, in a tender post featuring her daughters’ wrists adorned with handmade friendship bracelets spelling “big sister,” alongside a maternity storage bin. She wrote:
“Chris, Eisele, Emory, Betsy, and I are overjoyed to share that this summer, our family will be made complete with one more precious little girl joining us. I’m dusting off that maternity bin one more time.”
She also praised her husband, calling him “the absolute BEST girl dad,” and expressed gratitude for their growing family:
“We are thankful that God has entrusted us with a household full of girls. Each one of them is a gift.”
A Story of Faith, Loss, and Gratitude
Hillary and Chris have shared both joyful and difficult moments with their fans. In 2015, the couple endured a devastating miscarriage, a loss that reshaped Hillary’s understanding of motherhood, faith, and healing. Their family continued to grow, and in 2018, they welcomed their twins, Emory and Betsy, prompting another heartfelt announcement:
“Our family is proud and so thankful to share that our precious baby girls arrived safely. Thank you, Lord, for healthy babies.”
These moments, both joyful and painful, have shaped the Scott-Tyrrell family’s journey — one rooted in resilience, love, and faith in God’s timing.
“Christmas in July”: A Season of Joy
Seven years after the twins’ birth, the family is embracing a new chapter. Hillary describes their home as filled with music, laughter, and chaos — a reflection of life with four daughters. She treasures the little moments: lullabies, late-night feedings, and watching her older daughters bond with Selah.
“She truly feels like the most priceless blessing,” Hillary and Chris said. “It really does feel like Christmas in July — something magical, unexpected, and full of light.” As they adjust to life as a family of six, the couple remains grounded in faith, family, and love, giving thanks for each step of the journey.
